If the report was not broken, you should now see the special report icon on your sent item.
Seriously, I had know idea how formatting affected my question so seriously, so I again, apologize. I am an old-school DOS-taught secretary who is only asking for some advice. If you have an answer for my query it would be seriously appreciated. Outlook will only track replies to your default (personal) calendar, so if you are using a shared event booking calendar it will not track them (although you should still receive an email when someone accepts/declines the event.
In the Message Options, I selected the option “Request a delivery receipt for this message”.
In the on-line help for Outlook it says that this tracking information should be shown when opening the sent item.
This issue happens when the following steps occur: In order to track updates to meetings made by organizers and the responses to those updates by the attendees, Microsoft Outlook uses a sequence number that determines what the most recent update to that meeting is.
Responses to the meeting that contain a sequence number older then the one currently in use are considered out of date and do not update the Tracking Information.
The owner is the only person who can make changes to the task.
When an owner updates a task, Microsoft Outlook updates all copies of the task — the copy with the person who originally sent the task request, and all copies with all other prior owners of the task.
This option should be updated to reflect the way most users interpret it, or there should be another option that serves this purpose. If the tracking feature is not broken, you’ll see the following message icons in front of a received tracking report; Delivery Report Non Delivery Report (NDR) Message Read Notice Message Deleted Without Being Read Notice Recall Failure Report Recall Successful Report If you received a message with any of the above icons, then the tracking feature will work and you’ll see the following icon on your sent item in the Sent Items folder; Tracking icon for Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 Tracking icon for Outlook 2003 and previous If you see that icon on your sent item, double click the item to open it in its own window and you’ll see a “Tracking” button in the “Show” group (Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010) or the “Tracking” tab (Outlook 2003 and previous); In Outlook 2003 and previous, incoming reports sometimes need to be processed manually.Processing reports manually is as simple as selecting the report in your Inbox folder (don’t move it to another folder), mark it as read and then delete it.As a meeting organizer, you can find out which attendees have accepted or declined your meeting request. You can also see who has not yet Tracking Status tab, you'll see the responses shown as a table, but unfortunately it's not possible to sort or filter that list - so quickly picking out everyone who hasn't responded from a long list of invited people isn't so easy.
